Frequency Theatre joins Lakeside Theatre

Press Release

Local audio theatre makers, Frequency Theatre are delighted to be joining Lakeside Theatre, as one of their highly accomplished associate artist partnerships. Lakeside Theatre recognises that the local area is bursting with creative people. These people do extraordinary things through the work they make and sometimes there are those who really connect with the belief in celebrating brilliant contemporary performance and innovative well-made plays.

Through collaboration and sharing of resources this association will result in opportunities for University of Essex students to work with Frequency Theatre whilst studying. This unique partnership will encourage students to write, act and intern with Frequency Theatre and adds an exciting new dimension to the already accomplished work of the teaching staff.

Frequency Theatre, is an audio theatre company operating in Colchester, broadcasting exciting new plays on a weekly basis via podcast. Since April they have worked with over fifty actors, writers and directors and collaborated with The Mercury Theatre and Tinderboxalley Theatre company. Producer and Literary Coordinator Rich Chilver called this association “A brilliant opportunity to improve the artistic work of the community for this generation and the next” as the support allows this increase it’s ambitions. Frequency Theatre relies on volunteer actors, writers and directors as the company strives to create art despite the arts cuts. Those interested in their work should get in touch via the website www.frequencytheatre.co.uk or Twitter @frequencyplays.
