Operation Broadcast!

In April 2013 we decided to share our successful play-making process in Operation Broadcast! as we broadcast behind the scenes of a play made within a just one day.

In celebration of a year spent making forty seven audio plays, promoting international playwrights and joining the Lakeside Theatre as Associate Artists Frequency Theatre rehearsed, recorded, edited and released a play in a day, all of which was filmed and live streamed via the internet. Interviews and other bonus behind the scenes information was also be shared throughout the day. Alongside this, Frequency led an introductory workshop to audio production for University of Essex students; the SFX made by the students were then used in the edit of the main production.

The play made on this day was ‘The Man Who Tended Dahlias’ by Graham Watts.
