Graham Watts has directed around 130 professional theatre productions, several short films, has worked in television, written for both theatre and film, and has enormous experience leading workshops and education work.
He enjoys life working freelance, especially outside of the UK, and this has led to projects in Spain, Ireland, Australia, Japan, India, Pakistan, Finland, Poland, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
In America he has “O1 – Extraordinary Ability In The Arts” visa status which enables him to work in the USA.His production of “Much Ado About Nothing” played a season in Washington Square Park, New York City, in the summer of 2005.
In July 2006 Graham’s “Henry V” performed during the World Shakespeare Congress in Brisbane Australia.
Companies he has worked for include the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre of Great Britain, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre London, English Shakespeare Company, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Granada Television, Hull Truck, Mercury Theatre, Colchester (where he was Associate Director), and the English Theatres in Vienna, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
Graham is particularly known for his work on Shakespeare (having directed 18 separate Shakespeare plays in 28 productions) but also new writing, education, and short films.
